Students of all majors are encouraged to use our Advanced Program Search, which allows you to identify programs that offer courses in a particular area of study. If you do not see your major or area of interest, contact IEGI at iegi@binghamton.edu to learn more about the program options available based on your academics and goals for studying abroad.
Note: Students are NOT limited to taking courses in their major or minor while studying abroad. Depending on your major and academic plan, you may consider taking General Education courses, elective courses, and/or participate in a program with an internship, service learning, or research opportunity. You may also consider a short-term program that takes place in the summer, winter term, or spring break.

If you are interested in pursuing major or minor credit abroad, plan to meet with the director of undergraduate studies in your major or minor department(s) as they will determine whether or not major or minor credit can be granted. Harpur Academic Advising can also answer questions related to study abroad credit.

For SOM students, having an international experience will expand your worldview and engage you with the broader business world. Decisions people are making overseas affect your business even if you don't do business outside of the United States.
SOM students interested in earning SOM credit abroad are permitted to take up to 2 upper level business courses while studying abroad from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited school. CCPA students are encouraged to take advantage of education abroad programs and scholarships with international requirements, learning new perspectives and best practices that they can apply to their education and work at home. Social Work

Social Work majors should plan to talk with Social Work Academic Advising about studying abroad including the best time to go and the types of courses you should take while abroad.
Binghamton University graduate students interested in studying abroad as part of their degree are advised to speak with their academic department and the Graduate School about earning degree-applicable credit abroad. Graduate-level credit toward your degree is not guaranteed and requires written approval prior to participation.
