Program Description:
                                        
 "Personally I value life's experiences and seek Dr. Reeves-Ellingtonto learn and grow from them all."

Dr. Renate Hartman Reeves-Ellington, Professor Emeritus has extensive 
international experience in the academic, commercial, consulting, and public service sectors. Since 1991, Dr. Reeves-Ellington has served in various capacities including the role of Dean at the Binghamton University School of Management.

Dr. Reeves-Ellington studied abroad at the University of Munich and conducted graduate research in Mexico and Indonesia. She was twice awarded a Fulbright Teaching and Research Grant in Bulgaria and her languages include Bulgarian, German, Spanish, and Indonesian. 
 
The Reeves-Ellington Study Abroad scholarship awards funds for study abroad on a SUNY program to matriculated graduate or undergraduate students at Binghamton University with an interest in international study or languages.  
 
Eligibility Requirements:

Strong preference will be given to students enrolled in the College of Community and Public Affairs. Successful applicants will discuss their goals for study abroad as they relate to civic engagement and public affairs. 
  • Matriculation in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Binghamton University
  • Completion of their freshman year at time the program begins
  • Good academic standing
  • Planning a career working in international study or languages

Students must complete a study abroad program application before funds will be distributed. Students participating in a non-Binghamton program should complete a "Study Abroad -Other SUNY Program."

Award Amount:
In the past, recipients of this award have received approximately $1,500; one recipient will be selected each cycle.

Summer/Fall programs: March 1
Winter/Spring programs: October 1
